Niou loves to play tricks, he always get a good laugh from the last-to-date victim's embarrassed face. He's just cruel enough to hurt and playful enough for others to applause his stunts. Niou sees himself as a successful hit man, so he is surprised when Yagyuu catch him in the middle of an act.

Each time he sees Yukimura (even from the corner of his eyes) he swears he could hear that Beach Boys' song. He's not helped by the fact that Renji is sort of mouthing "Do do do do do" in rhythm and wonders for umpteenth time if his friend can really read mind.

princess princess french edition

- Princess princess :
The french edition was out a couple of days and like an addicted to junk ~~food~~manga I went out of my way to pick it up.
I remember that the anime put the emphasis on Tohru and Mikoto's first encounter, you know with the slow motion and the background of pink love. So the logical conclusion was that Mikoto and Tohru would be special friends but no, not at all. Like the manga the anime made it clear but later Yuujirou and Tohru were the item of the story. Mikoto is at best at Sakamoto's level i.e. a bit above nameless background characters.
What I found interesting is that Tsuda sensei started princess princess as a BL and Yuujirou and Tohru were meant to be together. Since she wanted to go mainstream she changed a bit the story. But clearly who is going to believe that Princess princess is a straight story ?

Oh and the omake behind the cover is hilarious. "Prince prince" would have make my junk food list too (especially a "prince prince of tennis" remake would be perfect. Who is up for a AU fic ?) Can't wait to read the second tank with the family complex side story.

- Naruto :
I still follow the manga out of habit but I lost my interest for it since Sasuke and Kakashi are there only now and then. It's like reading/watching the James Bond serie and being only interested in the outcome of Q's fate. Although I had to concede those last weeks were delightful as Sasuke did come back and was forming his little squad of worshippers.
Guess what ? The only girl has a crush on him. It's like Kishimoto sensei can not compute how a girl could not fall for Sasuke....

Weekly summaries

- Video games freak
Meanwhile I sort of became of video games freak since the percentage of video games blog and bbs I read is now bigger than the anime/manga ones.
I'm and always was a Nintendo fan. It's nothing rational, it's just that my first memories of game video are composed of afternoons with the boy next door playing NES games (duckhunt was fun) and being totally not impressed with playstation 3D. To me, Sony and Microsoft killed the spirit (Yes I'm aware there's good games on PS2 but to me it killed the dreamcast, home of Chuchu rocket)
Well DS and Wii brought me back at home. Can't wait to play Cooking Mama on Wii and the next Gyakuten Saiban.

Drop Dead Gorgeous part 5 update yesterday.
I like Maya's style but I can't help myself being disappointed by that particular fic. It began so funny and fast paced... and now it took a weird turn toward her usual Draco's circus. It's still funny since her writing is enjoyable buut the fic lost its wacky premise... well there's still hope since she usually writes long fics. The wacky will have many chance to return !

Eagle Vision belongs to my top ten list of favorite clamp characters. He even hold a special place in my heart because I didn't read RG Veda at that time and was very impressed with the way he was caring his will. Maybe because I don't usually stick to my resolutions but I felt that his strong will was something special. On contrary of other heroes, his determination wasn't not only describe as something positive and it also had negative consequence over the story.

I love his inner drama queen and how a failed relationship between two teenagers ended up in a nationalistic rally for the pillar position. Because Lantis left the country AND broke up with him, Eagle was enough desperate to throw away his life. Yeah of course he was ill, but instead of leaving his last days with his friends and family he chose to act like a tragic Mary "Nya nya nya I will save my boyfriend anyway because I'm in luv" Sue

His story has an emo feeling you can't really shake off. He wanted to save the world, his world, his ex-boyfriend, his ex-boyfriend's land and failed. End of the story.
And just when you think it couldn't be worse than having a terminal illness and being in a coma, you realise you are in a vegetative coma and that you can hear the former boyfriend trying to seduce a twelve years old airhead from Tokyo. It's pathetic, sad and comedy gold at the same time ...

I remember being sad with how MKR 2 ended. Not only Eagle and Lantis didn't get back together but Lantis wanted to be Hikaru. Bummer.

By the way it was a very nice touch that TRC!Eagle Vision was obsessed with Sakura's eyes and determination because that's exactly how MKR!Eagle Vision was with Hikaru. Hopefully this time, it won't end with someone in the coma.

Clamp newtype PLATINIUM

So I have the shiny newtype in my hands. It's like a new born baby, totally useless but utterly cute.

So what's inside ?
- The usual : Their iconic manga and their characters (Tokyo Babylon got more page than RG veda *weird*)

- The nice touch : a retrospective of many articles about clamp series (the lego feature didn't make the list T_T)

- The big surprise : Remember Yuuko~~i.e. clamp~~ is a fan of Cat's eyes ? They did an illustration for a city hunter article... sweet !

- The practical : nice pictures without taglines because we are all layout whores.

- The next in line : ad for Clamp newtype PASTEL tagline : How to hit your fan in their weakpoint to make massive damage

- The you're going to cry because you are not in japan right now merchandise page : special mention for Emily avoid page 132 !

- The X fans are gonna love it while I will wait a translation to eventually find it funny page : A Comic in clamp no kiseki style where Kamui is under fuma's sword and suddenly disappear. He realize he's now inside Yuuko's shop. And as usually it ends up in mayhem and chaos with Watanuki being annoyed with the mess. By the way Kamui in that little comic had been kobato-ed. HA !

- The booklet : no color illustrations ! Well to be honest just like your average tank. The format is indeed really cool because Mokona's drawings are very detailed and you couldn't appreciate all of it with the quality of Asuka pages.
To be honest I felt a pinch in my heart when I open it because first think I saw was the double black pages. I don't even know why.

Animation Note and clamp last chapters

I went to the bookshop this morning to do some inquiring about the Clamp NEWTYPE. Of course I ended up not booking the magazine and buying other stuff.

French version of FMA tank 8
Fabien Vautrin I love you ! (And before Fabrice start calling doctors, I'm not crazy I was only kidding) Well I don't love your stiffer than stiffy the stiffed stick translation but the fact that your Edition House did one of the Flame Alchemist 0 in a nice little booklet.
FMA is probably selling itself like hot cake right now. Can't wait to buy the artbook (again)

Volume 8 good memories :

NEW TYPE October : REI and KAWORU cover -don't read if you didn't see evangelion ep 24-
How many version of Evangelion will we have to watch ? A serie of 4 new movies is on production (wiki and gainax)Well if it means Kaworu bring it on.
While I would love to see more of him, the only problem I have with Kaworu, is that you get to feel how awesome he could have been with zero information (canon facts are compressed into 15 mins of one episode). It's really frustrating.

I didn't have the time to feel sad about his death the first time around. Everything happened too fast in episode 24 and now each time I'm watching that particular episode it's painful to see him in Shinji's hand during what seems the longest still scene in an animated show (one full minute I believe) and not wanting him to die.
And each time I have a glimpse of Kaworu (who seems to be in every group illustration) It feels like he's the most wasted character ever written on TV.

ANIMATION NOTE
A while ago Alex mentioned an interview about xxxHOLIC in Animation Note in his Clamp news June Edition.

Well I picked it up by chance (the cover was an old Gankutsuou illustration while clamp is mentionned in a small font) and was glad I did it. Last time I felt so happy about a magazine was probably when they released their first pretty pictures in Frau Magazine.

The magazine is fairly new (n°2) and doesn't really play in the Animemedia/ Newtype field. the inside of the magazine features interviews and doesn't overkill your eyes with flashy ads. It's not oriented toward fanbase (no drool worthy illustrations) and has a making-of/behind the scene feeling ♥ ♥ ♥

First, I love Fuji. Like A LOT. And by that I mean his look AND his personality. I love how he's a slacker in a shonen jump verse where Tezuka is the norm. I love how nothing really matter expect having fun ~~and maybe torturing puppies like his team mates~~.
A lot of people love Fuji for a lot of different reasons, so why try to turn him into a tennis beast like every other single character of that damned story ??? I don't especially like to see him lose but I wouldn't mind here.
I didn't really like the fact that fuji was power up by Ryoma's voice (anyone else but him would have been fine... Fuji has lot of friend after all). And now to win the match he had to win every single point until the end (7 freaking games no less). I really hope he's going to pull out a Inui and turn back to the laid back Fuji I love because I don't buy his new dream of winning the national with his team.

By the way Tezuka sure knows Fuji's name (he has what 2 lines since a couple of chapters and it's every time 'Fuji').

Vacation sweet vacation

I'm usually between 10 and 15 hours in front of a computer screen (working time included), whereas on vacation, I don't spend much time on it, and not necessarily by choice.

The only wired computer at home is located in my mother's office. That room is so cold, I had to wear a coat! So the first day at my mother's place is like a being in drug rehab for me (how can I live without my emails and rss feeds ????).
I have a "strict survival policy" i.e. a reduced favorite link list. Everything else is rescheduled at next week, because there's one thing I hate more than being deprived of my beloved lan connection it's freezing to death. But today I made an exception because despite what I'm saying Clamp is and always will be my beloved favorite subject.

- Newtype platinium : oups I forgot about it. It's only those damned missing chapters isn't it ? Yes the cover is gorgeous and if there's still one left in the bookshop (which I'm not sure)I'm buying it, but really wake me up when X will be back somewhere in prep for real.

I was sickly worried about TRC 129 (x_reggg-san's translation) because, in the translation from the chinese scans, Subaru was calling Seishirou "Seishirou" and not "Seishirou-san". I was so high and giddy after I could take a pick at the japanese ones and realize he actually did calling him "Seishirou-san".

Well, seriously what's up with that weak-ass vampire called Subaru ? (To be honest, Fuuma thinks Subaru is strong enough to not be too much provoked in that verse, which between us is how things should be in every verse)
I'm so glad he's back but he seems to have less spin than the X version which has less spin than the tokyo babylon one. Any less spin will be the equivalent of being Sakura without any wing feathers. I fear the next incarnation of my favorite green-eyes boy.

When we first heard about him. I thought that Clamp took the reverse path with Seishirou being a victim looking for a darker vampire Subaru and Hokuto. But now I do not understand why Seishirou had to search him (Why do I get a picture of Seishirou ignoring crying baby Kamui?) when obviously that Subaru still wants to jump in his pants.
Vampire Subaru is not indifferent with vampire hunter Seishirou (who is a vampire himself ? I love how Clamp insert a joke about his old age when he looks younger and younger each time we see him) so what's up with the unnecessarily angst ? Don't tell me Hokuto died in that verse too ?? Is there any chance of a second TRC!Subaru with Hokuto alive somewhere ? Just one panel, I don't asked for a full arc.

-- Rumiko Takahashi totally won me back with Inuyasha's last chapters. She's closing one by one each character storyline and if the conclusions are not unexpected they are nevertheless moving. I couldn't care less about Kouga but Kikyou got a conclusion and Sesshoumaru is about to have one too.

To me Kikyou was, is the soul of the story. If it wasn't for her, Inuyasha's plot would be pointless. Her story was poignant because she carried with her a sense of lost she couldn't overcome. On contrary of other characters you knew her road was a dead end, literally. Her job cost her everything from her youth to her life and even in death she was denied peace. She couldn't even pretend to feel nostalgia since she never formed a couple with Inuyasha.
I love how at first she was different from the lead characters. She was ruthless and depict as selfish through what seem a sadistic behavior. But later on, Takahashi started her "you're all gonna love her now or I end you" plan by making Kikyou taking care of old soldiers, young peasants and random lost children.

my top 5 kikyou scenes :
- "Don't call my name" (Chp 48)
- "When I was alive... I had wanted to do this" (Chp 76)
- "Because I didn't believe in Kikyou..." (Chp 78)
- "I won't give your life, to the likes of Naraku" (Chp 153)
- "To cry over wanting to live, is not shameful"(Chp 271)

and one I didn't include in the top 5 because it's anime only.
- I always associate "My Will" with Kikyou alone wandering in the forest aimlessly. Every time I'm listening to that song, it breaks my heart in tiny thousand pieces.

If the last chapter is the beginning of the last big arc about Sesshoumaru/Rin, Well it does kick the anime ass because it sounds much more interesting than episode 162. Is it next week yet ?

Reading the last chapter, I bet that if Sesshoumaru's parents were together at one time, she was the one who left, fed up with his personality. Why does the fandom see Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru's father as a kind loving guy ? It's not because Inuyasha got the bigger sword that he's the favorite child of the household. It's more like Inupapa pitied Inuyasha's weakness and gave him a big gun without a howto guide instead of a teddy bear. What a great father he was...
Sesshoumaru is a lame liar "I'm just going there to kill the dog" is the weakest excuse I ever heard. It is as weak as "tensaiga made me do it".

Tsubasa last episode

I don't know why (maybe because I was bored and couldn't sleep at all but I downloaded the last TRC episode (11)

A chibi episode !
Where's the madness ? Where's the fun ? (tenipuri spoiled me forever on the chibi style)

Ok it was sort of cute, too bad it was not silly-funny.
What made want me to post about was two cameos.

- Remember the AU were Shaolan and Sakura were classmates with a Watanuki in a school where the uniform was the same as Watanuki and Doumeki? They made pencil case from the pictures ? That universe got a cameo in the episode ! Fye wear the white blouse and Kurotan had the kendo stick !

- Fye had a kuro-oni mask. You can catch it on the mokona calendar (the gift of the big size 2006 calendar) of february.

TRC anime I still don't love you ! Mokona as a fanfic writer claiming to ship ShaolanxSakura while actually enjoying their torture IS not a good plot (don't listen to the little demon over your shoulder, it's not a good plot and it never, EVER will be) But those clamp products cameo were great ! Well done bee train (for once)

DVD Holic extra and TRC last chapter

I skimmed through the extras and it was like seiyuu orgy ! They actually shot the audio commentary so you can see Jun's face while he's saying all those no sense thoughts of his.
There's two or three short clips where the seiyuu introduced themselves (Ohara-san had such pretty kimono!) and the director made fun of them (Nakai made Doumeki too wild ! WTF ?!)

If that extras don't exist in the japanese DVDs, the French version is a must have for any Jun or Nakai fans.

While I'm not a fan of gore movies or gore imagery, I'm quite please with TRC last development. As chibiyuuto said Clamp is not about flower in your hair and blue bird in the sky.

It's the same people who purposely sold X as a cute shojo with little cute blond girl and puppy to later kill them as sadistically as possible. Kotori did not lose a eye, she first got to be crazy, then harassed/mocked by her dead mother and then be killed by her brother and not in a classic fashion. She was dismembered ! I'm sure it hurts a bit to be torn apart that way *shudder*
I'm not even talking about RgVeda here. It' not even about the physical pain. The torture in RgVeda goes way above. It's thousand years of mental torture of the most vicious kind AND horrible death.
Even MKR in I'm-bloody-made-for-the-six-years-old-Nagayoshi got a gory ending.

Now I want to see Ashura reaction. The jerk better not blame Fye and cuddle him up! Fye needs LOVE.
And I'm the only one who is sick enough to think Fye's going to rival Seishirou in the one eye missing bishonen level ? It's well know that you aren't really disfigured in Clampverse. A missing eye is like a membership card.

Holic the movie - dvd

I was surprized to learn that Holic the movie got a French dvd release so shortly after the Japanese one.
Apparently the movie was selected by the Annecy festival and the French editor rushed the DVD release in order to benefit from the festival cover.

The collector edition was very nice and neat.

- The French Editor "Kaze" made a beautiful Holic theme digipack. Inside and outside pictures are either Yuuko or Holic's smoke. It's very classy

- There's 3 DVDs. One for Holic, one for Tsubasa and one for the extras (mainly centered around holic I guess)

- The booklet contains the beautiful backgrounds used in both movies. And there's an interview of the director, the producer and Ohkawa-sensei ! (it's not ground breaking but the part where they explained that mokona is a fangirl bait is quite interesting)

- The audio commentary of the Holic movie is VA fan worthy if you have one hour to waste it's very cute listening to Jun Fukuyama (Watanuki), Kazuya Nakai (Doumeki) and Sayaka Ohara (Yuuko), pera pera-ing about nothing (Jun loves creating *new recipes* like curry soba and fears being bald) and everything (What's Life purpose ??).

Jun is especially cute (if not a bit ditzy), you could picture his inner puppy running wild in the studio recording (Ohara san said he was posing while saying his lines).

Nakai was like the wiser and clever old brother, dodging Ohara's philosophical questions AND Jun's randomness. He was mocking the fact that Doumeki had 5 lines and eating all the time.

Ohara-san was your typical Japanese woman, laughing every now and then. To do her justice, she was the one telling interesting tidbits about the movie (check for batou from GitS life-size doll at the beginning of the movie) as opposed as Jun gossiping about how Doumeki pushed Watanuki with his chest (!!)

Well I don't about the rest of my flist but I'm dying here to see the next House episode (Clueless). It's not like I'm a big fan or anything but it's been three weeks and I miss the snark.

I do wonder, is anyone here reading Sara M recaps at TWOP ?
I read the Angel, BtVS, Smallville, Firefly, and Xfiles recaps and boards and I think she's not as witty (but I had to concede that she's funny once in a while) and as efficient in the recapping art as the other members of the TWOP staff.
It's a very personal point of view but every time I'm thinking well I hope she will talk about that scene (Wilson/House banters are most of the time ignored/ not transcribe/ sum up as 'Wilson and House talked') she's either barely mention it or she won't even spare a thought on it.... yeah bashing Cameron or Stacy is fun but we get it you don't love them.... get over it

I don't really watch TV for smart scripts or whatsoever. I really appreciate when a show don't think you (the average guy) are an idiot. But overall, Tv Shows have always been to me a mindless activity.

Of course I'm not insulting House MD but it is only a tv show. They had to take shortcut to demonstrate their messages (doctors doing test themselves) they had to twist medical reality to make the show works (Head of department being side kick and not actually head of oncology dep.) they get to dramatize everything before the ad (OHMIGOD he's gonna die !!!!).

So it's not that House MD is bad, it's in fact really good for a medical show , it's more like I don't want to laugh at myself pretending I'm here for the medical mystery (not realistic !) or the plot (arc episodes seriously sucks... while continuity is great. How weird is that ?) I'm here for the characters and the one-liners. I'm here because I love Hugh Laurie since the blackadder days. I'm here because I cried when I first saw dead poet society with Robert Sean Leonard.

I'm here because I love House/Wilson and frankly the day one of them leave the show I will heard the jaw's theme and reading the last spoilers I don't think it will happen in a near future.

Just read House spoilers on LJ (beware it's big spoilers since it's a recap of the next episode which has been screened in a convention)
So Wilson IS the perfect woman (or should I say wife ?) because all the domestic bliss he brought with him turned House into a little possessive monkey ^^.

I'm amazed and very glad they took, are going to take that road. In a House/Wilson dynamic, slash or not, House is the one who can't live without Wilson. And Wilson is high on that feeling. Well in my appreciation of the actual canon source anyway.

He's not mad or angry that House is a jerk, he loves House's personality because it makes him feel so special that he's House only friend.
It's like a kid, who tries to tame and take care of wild and dangerous animals he finds on the street. He's always rewarded by those said animals with bites but he doesn't care because once in a while the wild puppy will show some sign of affection or fidelity.
Wilson don't want to be loved by everybody (in opposition of Cameron) he's not having a quest to find the one true love of his life when he's cheating on his wifes. He wants to be the special person of someone (a very manga-esque conception of the relationship if you ask me why I like that dynamic). And while I don't think Wilson is homosexual or even bi if ever House asked nicely (he could even have already ask once or twice after Stacy left), Wilson wouldn't be able to turn him down.

Don't wait for deep meta here...

- Julie hates House.... I wonder why
- Wilson is a funny guy ! the shop guy and the nurse were laughing at his banter with House. So isn't it mysterious that the first person he cheated his wife with was a person who made him feels he was funny ?
Everyone one seems to find him funny (you can see he rarely miss a occasion to make the staff laugh) so why that person and no one else ?
- I don't have comment just that Wilson moving in House just melt my brain function for the next three weeks. I didn't realized what else happend in that episode.

Good morning, starshine... the earth says hello!

Things I did lately :
- Fall in love with my boss because he hates Sarkozy's guts.
- Realize I'm ready to vote against my beliefs because I REALLY want to work in the President's cabinet in

- Buy a white nintendo cube and a pink nintendo ds (Fabrice made me do it !)
- Read the 7 first volumes of Slam Dunk
- Discover the lovely shiho_s_diamond comm. I'm not surprized to see who is behind it
- Decide that eating three times a day was not worth the effort (I reduced to two)
- See Holic the movie and was satisfied (indeed) by everything but Yuuko design. It was funnier than a whole TRC season and also prettier (except it's unfair to compare a movie and a tv show) IN TOTAL LOVE and ADORATION with Doumeki (also IS IN LOVE with Doumeki's old man..... I'm so ready to read about a time paradox chapter where we learn that Doumeki and Mokona are in fact Watanuki's parents)
- Was not really excited by TRC!Kamui because I'm a retard and only live for Subaru and/or Seishirou. I want to love the 'end of the world' world but It's too soon for the 'squueee' give me some Chi no Ryu and I will give you some squeee.
- Was sadden by the fact that not a single prep is exciting enough right now to make me jump up and down.

Things I did not :
- Write back to the emails people send me
- Stop worrying about what people think of me at work place
- Try to be reasonable with money (Death Note artbook special edition is going to be mine soon)
- Watch Paradise kiss (I want to but I keep falling asleep before I could even start watching it)
- Buy Gankutsuou french DVDs (I will)
- Like the last roman I read despite finding extremely funny (Love, etc from Julian Barnes)
- Finish to read In Cold Blood before watching Truman Capote and know I will regret it
- Eat a single pizza.

SAMEDI
Je suis allée au cinéma voir Walk the Line avec une amie et si on a toutes les deux aimé le film, je ne comprends pas tellement pourquoi il a été nommé aux oscars et tout le toutim.

OK le film était bien mais n'y-a-t-il pas une contradiction ÉNORME entre les valeurs véhiculées par Johnny Cash ("je suis un rebelle, je fais de la prison et je suis cool") et sa vrai vie ? Bon d'accord c'était un "drogué" (ouais c'était même pas des drogues dures) mais l'angle de la biographie était assez surréaliste... en gros le méga voyou n'était qu'une couverture puisque le rêve de Johnny Cash c'était l'AMOUR de sa vie June Carter qu'il a poursuivi de manière obsessive depuis qu'il a dix ans.

Si c'est pas malsaint tout ça.... bref le film ce termine sur un méga cliché de lovestory June est morte début 2003 apres 35 ans de vie commune et Johnny est mort 4 mois après elle. C'est à la fois beau et troublant de penser que certaines personnes appliquent littéralement la phrase "I can't live without you"

DIMANCHE
Je suis allée au GAME IN PARIS avec Fabrice et Yann (Merci pour le bonnet Kyo) et nous ne sommes pas restés très longtemps. Fabrice et Yann était déjà venu la veille et je n'ai pas trouvé les prix très intéressant.
La grande acquisition de Fabrice fut cependant le coffret GANKUTSUOU, qui croyait moi, est d'une beauté absolu. Les couvertures japonaises ainsi que les sérigraphies des dvd ont été reprises *baveeeeeee*. La VF n'est pas dégueux (sauf qu'Albert dit Gankutsu..... ) nous avons passé la soirée a nous dire que la série était quand même formidable (le passage ou Albert voit le vaisseau du comte décoller dans le premier épisode a reçu pas mal de compliment) et que cette série méritait vraiment un succès en France.
Acheter le coffret Français les enfants il est beau (surtout le dos de la boite noire)!

Nous arrivons enfin au pourquoi du comment du titre de mon lj cut.... à la plus grande honte de ma vie. Ces derniers temps je vis un peu une révolution culturelle et parce que mon travail le demande, je dois non seulement m'habiller comme une 'lady' et coordonner mes fringues mais si possible me maquiller et tout le tralala. Bref je suis une secrétaire typique de film. Là ou le changement me fait carrément ch**r c'est que je deviens 'blonde' de plus en plus chaqe jour.

Nous étions en train de déjeuner avec Fabrice et Yann et je leur décrivais "Breakfast at tiffany's" que je venais de finir

Moi : Truman Capote a dit que le film était à vomir
Yann : Pourquoi ? Il était pas homo au fait ?
Moi : Si et les perso de ses livres sont de la jet-set new yorkaises, un peu bi, un peu fétard un peu orgie alors tu parles avec la petite Audrey Hepburn propre sur elle et tout.
Yann : L'ambiamce c'est décadant quoi...
Moi : oui, mais décadant sympa

I'm about to celebrate Christmas with my family... since they (and mainly my aunts who are going to cook) aren't really traditionalist I think we're going to eat paëlla ^^

It's probably my last entry of the year so happy holidays (whatever you're celebrating) and happy new year !

Profit, the tv show

Profit : the pilot (~ 700mo)

A week or two ago I read a twop’s recap about a show named Profit. The name rang a bell., something about a C.E.O. member ready to kill to climb up in the hierarchy of his corporate company.

I downloaded the whole show (around 8 episodes) and was completely floored by it. What an Amazing show! And stupid fux cancelled it after 3 episodes because no one was watching it.

What a surprise! They promoted "Profit" as a nice alternative just after Melrose Place. Profit is not an alternative to Melrose Place, it's more like a whole new level of television. It's like saying legume soup is an alternative to chocolate !

And to be honest, the show sadly was ahead its time and despite a huge press about how the show was amazingly dark and well written there was no place on tv for something THAT dark.

One can tell "Pfff, I read/watch morally ambiguous manga/anime all the time, this show can't be THAT dark"

Believe me or not when I'm saying the guy is sleeping with his stepmother (mother in the original pitch) and killed his father just in the pilot I'm far from the evilness that is Jim Profit.

Jim Profit is good looking, his voice can make Alan Rickman sounds like a falsetto and he's smart above the average (through on the sneaky side). He's like a wet dream walking except he doesn't feel anything moral and could kill you if you are a danger to him or "Gracen and Gracen", the place where he's working.

The well written script (with some nice one liners ) is not the only good aspect of the show it's the whole setting which is extremely appealing.

Jim Profit is not an anti-hero à la House or Jack Bauer being all twisted in their ethics? What ethics ? (a more satisfying version of plot? what plot?) he is totally EVIL.
For Angel fans, imagine Wolfram and Hart without the demonic aspect and picture someone who is doing everything he can to make Wolfram and Hart healthy and successful. And by everything I mean : blackmail, extortion, kidnapping, manipulation, murder AND mass murder. Name an evil deed and Jim Profit did it twice and better than everyone else.

With evil Profit, the show could have been simply original and nice but this is where you reach the meta level and have a field trip trying to see Jim Profit. Jim's father used to "take care" of him by letting him all the day in a box and throwing food through a hole !the said hole main function was here to let Jim watch TV 24/24 7/7. The box was cleaned only once a week.

So we have a character on TV, actually raised by said TV and who became so incredibly devoid of all human feelings that you can hardly call him of us.

The truth is that Jim Profit is human, he's more human than any of us. He's what our society created and deserved.

So go on and download the show ! Or better than that buy the dvds they are worth it.

Yay I'm back (but with a plot twist)

Or How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Love Real Life (not that I hated before ^^)

It's been since three months since I read my flist and I realized how much I miss the fun, so Yay me I'm back into LJ land !

Well to tell the truth I went through some sort of life changing decision during my break. Something I would qualify as a U-turn thingy

I stop following at least 90% of the manga I was reading, including clamp's ones and stop watching anime completely. It's not that I spend too much time working, it's just that somewhere on the road, the thrill wasn't there anymore.

I started to watch old British shows (like Red Dwarf or A Bit Of Fry And Laurie), to listen to talk show on the radio (rtl : On refait le monde), to go back to my first love (movie theater more often) and to keep track on my current new obsession House, the tv show.

So I'm still the same old Anne (i.e. the girl who keeps obsessing about what she likes) except now manga is no more on the top of my list (clearly I'm lying because the last thing I bought last week was the clampazar dvds)

Watched Hunting this morning and despite not being one of my favorite House episode, it was still enjoyable.
Cameron who annoys me as a character was as usual : You have the feeling she's writting H2G2 except not about the galaxy but about The ten worst decisions you could make through a life time. The only problem is that our miss MoralOutrage is about to wrote her 50th chapter.
So yeah it was a bit stupid for her to take Kalvin's advice to have fun with sex and drugs but I was ok with her having sex with Chase (who isn't after all ?) but what I found incredibly stupid and totally in character was for her to be mad at Kalvin because well sex and drugs aren't the keys to happiness ! He lied to her about it ! Duh !!! Cameron aren't you old enough to realize that on own ??

I'm not really against Cameron hooking up with Chase. She could be far more happy with the young dashing Aussie than she could be with House. Everything that could make the whole Cameron is in love with her boss storyline goes away is fine in my agenda.

Stacy & House storyline is on fire (and not in a rock concert general sense more like in "I'm burning HELP" way) and I could care less except I do hope he's not going to be "darker" and "moodier" after the whole mess. Stacy storyline was interesting like 8 episodes ago... now it's just an excuse for House to make sad faces (which HL does to the perfection) . I'm still not convince by Sela Ward's acting. Her face was moving this time but it does look like a piece of wood compare to Laurie. There's something wrong with the lead actress when a rat can act better, isn't it ?

And no post about House should end without a bit of Wilson LOVE. I do love the fact that you pick up House to go to work despite House being very fine by himself. I do love the fact that you find schocking that some people do not have sex. I'm utterly and madly in love with the way you give answer that have nothing to do with the question since Kalvin wasn't talking to you nor about your off screen relationship with House.

A bit of trivia about Steve MacQueen and his three marriages and his bisexuality ... So they are actually telling us that House wants to have Wilson in a cage ?

And finally according toimdb Brenda, the evil nurse is back next week !

By the way 20 points for people who smiled reading my new blog's title.

hiatus

H I A T U S

I don't usually do hiatus post, but the circumstances are a bit exceptional.

Three days ago I began a new job. So during a week at least I was extremely busy with closing files I was taking care. I'm... was a accountant assistant but since the main responsible for the account division is only a civil servant with no accounting qualifications, I was actually doing the accountant job.
The job was really boring but at least it didn't take time and I spend a rather big portion of the day browsing on internet

not so interesting, isn't it ? Since november I became rather unhappy with my job and began to have sleep problems (sleeping only 3 hours by night) without realizing what was the cause.

In January, my boss announced us that the division was moving in Strasbourg (pour les français, vous n'aurez pas de mal à trouver quelle grande école est partie là bas) and that we were either free to follow or to stay in Paris and they will help us to find a new job. Of course I chose to say 'goodbye suckers ! Do me a favour : don't ever call me again'

I was happy to learn that my former DHR (last time she saw me was 15 months ago) didn't forget my name and ask me to work back for the government.

I'm just a simple secretary but the job is quite interesting when you're working for people who hold the destiny of your country (so to speak, because disillusion taught me that politicians only ruin people's life or at least don't make it better except by chance) in their hands so I was very glad to came back in the prime minister cabinet office.

The job is taking me at lot of time, and I think I won't have time (and I don't want my boss to find out I have a blog) during at least 2 or 3 weeks to be online for anything but mails. But I feel much more energetic after my first day because my first boss came and we talk (I have a giant crush on him, since he's basically the cutest thing walking on earth when he's wearing a orange rain coat above his neat costume he had to wear when he has meeting with the cabinet office).

I won't read my flist and won't update anything until end June. Wish me good luck in my new job .
