Bonjour,

I'm going slowly through my amazon frenzy packages....

*Mild Spoilers alert*

- I finished Pack Animals (they bickered about meeting the in-laws, cute!).
conclusion ---> More classical than Almost "Crack straight to your brain" Perfect but still fun to read. I also like the appearance of worried for Ianto but still very professional Jack.

- I really can't bother myself to read beyond the first chapters Skypoint because really after 2/3 seasons and 2/3 sets of books, I don't need the author to describe the team ! Jump into the action man ! The exposition fairy doesn't need to tell me who are these characters. If at this point I need someone to tell me that Toshiko is the resident tech girl and that Owen is their doctor, WTF am I doing here exactly ?

Having done some wikipidea-fu, the author is Phil "Something Borrowed" FORD who thinks he needs a flashback to remind us that yes Jack is miffed about Precious Gwen wedding.:((
conclusion ---> tossed in pile of books to read when bored.

- Ordered John Hodgman's (I'm PC guy and one of The Daily Show correspondent) The Areas of My Expertise and More information than you required. It's pretty much Hodgman usual non-sense humour. I wish he was a plushy, I would cuddle him hard.
conclusion ---> Will listen to the audiobook while flipping the page.

- Watching Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and more precisely the scene with Blur's song 2. I didn't realised that the very first tune you could heard was the first notes of Beatles' "I want you (she's so heavy)" which is THE longing song. The lyrics are composed of only a couple of sentences.
I want you. I want you so bad it's driving mad, it's driving mad.
I love that the sexual tension is not only on screen but underlined by the implied lyrics of the song.

I miss the longing on John Hart's face the first time I saw the episode but this time it hit me hard. Did you see his face just before Captain Jack is telling him to get out of Cardiff as fast as possible ? It's the pure definition of want and need rolled into one.

Did you ever wonder how long is was between that scene and the last time, Hart saw Harkness ? It maybe was hundred years and so for Jack, but what about Hart ? How devastating for him that 6 months ago (or whatever still stay in the definition of "not long ago") Hart was stuck playing husband and wife with the hottest time agent to being held with a ten feet pole like he was dirt.
It's always painful to see your ex had move when you still obviously want an access to what's inside his pants.
And John knows Jack's love of 20th century earth pop culture as proved with his little Leia imitation (do you think they role played Han and Leia during those two weeks as five years ?). Star Wars is probably a dead reference by the 51th century. Speculation : John knows about it because Jack knows about it, like Stuart knows about Doctor Who because Vince likes Doctor Who. You know he has it bad for Jack.
conclusion ---> Missing terribly Torchwood.

- Still missing my last order the Bro Code + audiobook done by NPH
"I have a hundred words for 'snowflake' but only one word for 'The Bro Code,' - awesome!"
--Some Eskimo maybe
conclusion ---> Have to wait patiently

- Rec : The Theory of Two Centres.
It's a Copperbadge's story so no need to explain why I'm reccing it.
It's a fantastic AU where Jack and Gwen had to retcon Ianto (for reasons explained in the first chapter). Ianto woke up with 4 years of his life missing. So what do we have is a Ianto not even close to the one in fragment, because he's bare of Torchwood one and Lisa influence.
conclusion ---> Read it or GTFO

Came back from a one week trip to my parents' house where out of boredom I spend everyday tiny amount of money on amazon on books and BBC goodies.

So my mailbox was full of packages ♥♥♥

- Silver Diamond tome 1 Tokyopop edition. I don't know about the quality of the translation but the cover is shiny and there's even color illustrations. Will probably order the second tome when my bank account will recover from shopping spree.

- Torchwood second season DVD (I'm late !) I like the monochrome box. There's no need for me to stare at the actors face on the DVD cover to confirm they're in the show. So white or deep blue for season 3 ?

- ALMOST PERFECT is here in my hand. I didn't know it was going to be delivered that fast .

- Bought online this morning Russell's book, writer's tale at the shiny price of 25 euros (which is like 11 euros cheaper than the french amazon price where it's out of stock anyway) and can't wait to read it. Trivia and anecdotal evidences are my weakness, I love to pile them up.

The book was out yesterday but the quotes are travelling on the tubes since at least a week.
"Still, [making Owen die in S2 rather than Ianto] meant I had a meeting with Gareth David-Lloyd to explain it all. Christ, he's hot. I'm talking about sex a lot. That means I'll start writing soon."
At first reading that quote gave me the Hitchcock vs his actress creepy vibs but then that just a funny one-liner isn't it ?

It reminds me of House employing Cameron because she's a nice green plant in the office. She's not the prettiest or the smartest girl but her face and body is enjoyable enough and she isn't dumb just naive enough for House to be the one in control.
Being Cameron you can only feel insulted, but how glad you are that you're working with the best MD of the state if not of the country ? What is the price of your job ?

How thankful, GDL can be that he's being genetically gifted ?
I believe him good actor, maybe the best of the Torchwood cast now (The Meat outtake makes me cringe to see how John Barrowman sounds so wooden while GDL is natural) so I hope being fancied by the producers will serve him right.

It's funny how GDL's life as an actor is parallel to Ianto's life in Torchwood. Both of them are extremely good in their job, they are both very young so in the difficult position of having to prove themselves over and over again. And both of them took the shortcut (and not necessarily by choice, it just happened) of being sexually objectified by their boss, which save their young ass of being "killed". Ianto was to be killed so many times and yet GDL's still there while GDL said in a convention that sleeping with Jack was probably what stopped Jack of killing Ianto or retconning him.

- Jack's room )

- Porsche + Jack + Ianto = massive brain failure )
